One of the hospitals slated for closing by the Berger Commission is arguing that they receive very little funding from New York State, second only to a small community hospital in the Adirondacks. As closures are pending, however, they are working on a possible clinical affiliation with Mt. Sinai Hospital, in the hope of offering better and more diverse services.
