The "Colorblind" Attack on Your Health
Colorlines, the national newsmagazine on race and politics, has just released an article on health care disparities in the US. Author Kai Wright has done a great job outlining the historical context for American health policy with respect to race, explaining that many conservatives assume that racial inequality was solved during the civil rights era and no longer merits political attention. However, today's statistics show that the health of black Americans continues to lag behind that of their white counterparts, even when provided with the same access to health care.
